About The Position

This role is for a Corporate Development & Planning Associate at Eaton, a global intelligent power management company. The position is based at the North American Headquarter facility in Beachwood, Ohio, with relocation offered if required. Eaton's Corporate Development & Planning team has significantly transformed its portfolio through disciplined M&A, deploying nearly $7B into acquisitions and joint ventures and divesting 4 businesses for nearly $5B since 2019. These transactions have positioned Eaton for higher growth, margins, and more consistent earnings. The primary function of this role is to provide analytical, financial modeling, and research support for Eaton’s corporate development and strategy initiatives, which involve shaping some of the company’s biggest decisions. This requires strong financial acumen, strategic thinking, and communication skills.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Master of Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent advanced degree from an accredited university.
  • Minimum of 1 year of post-MBA work experience in corporate development, corporate strategic planning, consulting, finance, or investment banking.
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future.
  • Demonstrated ability to complete complex financial analysis with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical‑thinking skills.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of valuation models and methodologies.
  • Demonstrated track record of project leadership skills and experience.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to present data clearly.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple analytical tasks and deadlines in a fast‑paced, transaction‑oriented environment.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain detailed financial models to support valuation, benchmarking, and planning for potential acquisitions and divestitures using standard methodologies (e.g., DCF, comparables, precedent transactions).
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and clarity of analytical outputs.
  • Support due diligence activities by analyzing target company financials, reviewing data room materials, and summarizing key findings.
  • Assist with coordination of due diligence efforts across corporate functional and business operating teams, under the guidance of the deal lead.
  • Support transition planning and handoff to integration teams following transaction approval.
  • Perform company, market, and industry analyses to support evaluation of potential transactions and broader strategic initiatives.
  • Assist in framing strategic rationale for potential deals, learning to connect analytical findings to Eaton’s strategic priorities.
  • Support developing presentations, memos and analyses for internal leadership reviews, including materials that may ultimately support executive or Board‑level discussions.
