We have an exciting opportunity as we are looking for an Analyst to join our Strategy and Corporate Development team. SUMMARY The Strategy and Corporate Development Analyst plays a critical role in shaping Westlake’s long-term growth and competitive positioning. This individual will work closely with executive leadership to assess strategic opportunities, develop business cases, and drive execution of complex projects, including mergers & acquisitions, partnerships, and transformational initiatives. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in business analysis, strategic planning, and cross-functional collaboration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical degree (engineering, science), business, or accounting.
  • Typically requires 5+ years of work experience in Corporate Development, Venture Capital, Private Equity, or Investment Banking, with transaction and negotiations experience a plus.
  • Strong analytical, financial modeling, and project management skills.
  • Maintains rigorous attention to detail, ensuring precision and reliability.
  • Reviews work thoroughly to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare executive-level presentations and reports summarizing complex analyses and recommendations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to adjust your style to suit different perspectives and seniority levels.
  • Ability to convey complex ideas clearly and tailor messaging to diverse audiences.
  • Excellent organizational capabilities, including the ability to initiate tasks independently and see them through to completion.
  • Proven ability to drive results in a matrixed, cross-functional environment.
  • Ability to work or attend meetings outside of traditional business hours or take on projects with limited or no notice at times.
  • Ability to travel.

Responsibilities

  • Lead financial and operational modeling and analytics to support strategic decision-making
  • Prepare M&A due diligence, valuation, structuring, and negotiations
  • Project management, particularly cross-functions and business integration and coordination
  • Assess and develop market strategies for entry, exit, expansion for review by decision makers
