About The Position

Medium Giant is looking for a Strategist, Search & Social to join our growing SEO & Social Media team. This role is ideal for someone early in their career (2 years minimum experience) who is eager to grow their expertise in SEO, social media, and broader digital strategy. The Strategist will report to the Associate Director of Search & Social and play a key role in supporting social & search engine optimization efforts. This person will gain hands-on experience in both SEO and social media, working closely with senior strategists to hone their skills and expand their strategic thinking. As part of Medium Giant's larger Strategy Team, they will also collaborate with experts in brand strategy, content strategy, and UX, giving them exposure to multiple disciplines within digital marketing.

Requirements

  • 2 years of experience in social media, SEO, or digital marketing.
  • Basic knowledge of SEO fundamentals (keyword research, on-page optimization, technical SEO).
  • Familiarity with SEO tools (Google Analytics, SEO Clarity, Google Search Console, SEMrush, etc.) is a plus.
  • Some experience with Google Business Profile (GBP), Yext, or local listings management preferred.
  • Basic understanding of social media management platforms (Meta Business Suite, Sprout Social, Hootsuite, etc.).
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to manage multiple tasks, and keen attention to detail.
  • Desire to learn and grow in both SEO and social strategy, with an eagerness to take on new challenges.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to contribute to content and strategy discussions.

Responsibilities

  • Drive organic discovery and reputation management across key digital channels, including SEO, social media, and YouTube.
  • Support strategy execution, performance monitoring, and ongoing optimization using tools like Hootsuite, SEOClarity, Talkwalker, and LPM platforms (Yext & Transparensee).
  • Collaborate with senior team members to build expertise in organic growth strategies, audience engagement, and brand reputation management.
  • Support social media publishing & management, ensuring a steady cadence of relevant, engaging content across platforms.
  • Research, update, and optimize content (blogs, social posts, GBP listings) to improve search visibility and engagement.
  • Ensure location listings are fully optimized, updated, and actively managed for local search success.
  • Monitor content marketing trends, flagging opportunities to improve content performance and audience reach.
  • Work on weekends, with scheduled work on Saturdays and Sundays, monitoring community management updates during these days.
  • Utilize SEO Clarity & Google Search Console to analyze keyword trends, identify optimization opportunities, and support ongoing website performance.
  • Learn from senior strategists to deepen expertise in organic search, social engagement, and content strategy.
  • Monitor brand mentions, reviews, and conversations across search and social platforms, using tools like Talkwalker & LPM platforms (Yext & Transparensee).
  • Assist in community engagement by responding to customer inquiries, reviews, and social interactions in a way that strengthens brand reputation.
  • Support reputation management efforts by ensuring brand messaging, responses, and content align with client objectives.
  • Help build and refine brand voice guidelines for organic channels to maintain authenticity and consistency.
  • Support monthly reporting initiatives for organic efforts (SEO, social media, YouTube), analyzing trends and providing ongoing strategic recommendations.
  • Collaborate with the larger strategy team (brand, content, UX, and web development) to develop integrated solutions that drive long-term organic growth.
