Join a team that has received numerous awards for being a top place to work: TruStage awards and recognition Job Purpose: This position works primarily with executive leaders and project teams on highly complex projects or efforts with significant people change management needs. Additionally, this role supports enterprise projects with longer timelines or a highly rapid pace with greater risk. Provides strategic communications counsel and support towards the achievement of enterprise goals and objectives. Communication support includes the development of communication strategies and tactical plans designed to inform, engage and influence action; and may include the project management of internal and external communications consultants, agencies and resources. Additionally, this role will measure progress and success of the communication strategy and pivot or adjust direction as needed. Sequences and develops the calendar of internal and external communication events. This position serves as key communication liaison to essential internal and external marketing and communication functions and provides advice with regards to communication planning and strategy. Works independently, with guidance required in only the most complex situations. Develops rapport and adapts quickly to new situations. May lead functional teams or projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or Media Relations; or an equivalent in work experience
  • 12+ years of related experience. Experience in agency, corporate or highly regulated industry sector preferred
  • Strategic thinker; demonstrated ability to see around corners and highlight risks/opportunities for others
  • Ability to influence; engages with people at all levels of the organization, internally and externally; strong interpersonal skills
  • Experience developing and executing communication plans for complex multi-channel, tiered projects; e.g. mergers, acquisitions, crisis management
  • Able to apply critical thinking skills to self-direct own work in support of broader goals
  • Maintain confidentiality of information
  • Compelling and proficient writer; ability to uncover creative angles and craft interesting stories
  • Experience developing and executing communication plans for complex multi-channel, tiered projects; e.g. mergers, acquisitions, crisis management
  • Experienced speech writer
  • Experience with media, social media, and creating content for multi-channel use
  • Proficient with PowerPoint and telling a story visually
  • Tech savvy and able to learn and adapt to ever-evolving communication styles and technology
  • Ability to demonstrate an understanding of value chain, financial and operational fundamentals
  • Demonstrated ability to build rapport quickly and influence; will interact with people at all levels of the organization and need to be able to build trust and mutual respect with key stakeholders

  • Continually measures, evaluates and improves performance of plans.
  • Demonstrates technical savvy by adapting quickly to different forms of communication styles and methods leveraging current industry best practices and technology solutions.
