About The Position

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Strategic Sourcing Specialist III to join the Original Casting Lighting Sector Team in St. Louis, MO. The role involves maintaining and promoting sound relations with suppliers by taking ownership for sourcing activities, developing procurement strategies, managing performance, negotiating contracts, and driving cost savings initiatives. The specialist will interface throughout the Legrand organization to leverage spend volume and existing global partnerships, conduct strategic sourcing activities, participate in supplier negotiations, and coordinate with internal stakeholders to define material, quality, and service requirements. The position also includes supporting vendor partnerships, monitoring performance, reviewing market intelligence, managing RFQs, and conducting Make vs. Buy analysis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in sourcing or procurement.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and lean manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with RoHS, Reach, Conflict Minerals.
  • Familiarity with commodities such as copper, fiber, and metal.
  • Familiarity with incoterms.
  • Experience with logistics including LTL, small parcel, rail, ocean.
  • Strong negotiating and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with analysis of freight carriers/invoicing.
  • International freight quoting experience.
  • NAFTA experience.
  • Familiarity with harmonized group codes.
  • Experience with customs.
  • Ability to lead projects and cost improvement initiatives.
  • JDE experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and promote sound relations with suppliers.
  • Develop procurement strategies and manage performance.
  • Conduct strategic sourcing activities supporting OCL/Legrand objectives.
  • Participate in supplier negotiations and contract preparation.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to define material, quality, and service requirements.
  • Support vendor partnerships and monitor performance using established KPIs.
  • Review market intelligence and analysis to anticipate price fluctuations.
  • Use ERP systems and other software tools to manage processes.
  • Manage business-wide RFQs, bid and contract negotiations.
  • Negotiate long-term contracts for optimum costs and reliable service.
  • Conduct Make vs. Buy analysis.
  • Manage sustainability opportunities with suppliers.
  • Perform other similar and related duties as required.
