About The Position

Join Capital Group's Strategic Sourcing & Procurement (SS&P) team as a summer associate, supporting key business areas such as Investment Groups, Client Operating Groups, ITG, and Office Services. You'll gain hands-on experience in sourcing and procurement operations, work closely with a dedicated manager and team, and complete a structured project culminating in a final presentation. Along the way, you'll be exposed to daily operations, cross-functional collaboration, and strategic initiatives.

Requirements

  • You are a full-time student pursuing a bachelor's degree, with an anticipated graduation date of Spring 2027.
  • You have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills; experience with Excel required, Power BI and other BI tools a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated curiosity, adaptability, and interest in strategy, operations, procurement, or consulting.
  • Customer focus, relationship-building abilities, and enthusiasm for new challenges.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and coordinate logistics in a fast-paced environment.

  • Preferred majors: Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Economics, Business Analytics, Industrial Engineering, or related fields.

Responsibilities

  • Support sourcing and procurement projects, including contract negotiations, supplier evaluation, and process improvement.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of sourcing strategies that align with organizational goals, focusing on cost, quality, and risk optimization.
  • Participate in market research, competitive sourcing events (RFI, RFQ, RFP), and assist with contract development.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders (business partners, legal, information security) to gather requirements and move projects forward.
  • Analyze data using Excel and business intelligence tools (Power BI, Ariba, Fieldglass) to inform recommendations and decisions.
  • Assist with onboarding suppliers and managing downstream processes (purchase orders, payment systems).
  • Contribute to data quality and accuracy across sourcing and procurement operations.
  • Contribute to identifying opportunities for value creation, cost savings, and process optimization.
