You will also partner closely with Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing, IT, Finance, Legal, and Project teams to deliver sustainable cost savings, mitigate risk, and ensure robust contractual and supplier management. A strong emphasis is placed on contracting expertise, including negotiation, drafting support, and lifecycle management of complex commercial agreements. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • At least five to seven years of Sourcing experience required. At least one year of supervisory responsibilities is preferred.
  • Strong computer skills are necessary, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. SAP skills are helpful but not required.
  • Driver’s License required.
  • Due to extensive communication with suppliers and internal customers, good interpersonal, problem solving, and reasoning skills are required. Strong verbal and written communication skills and negotiating skills required.

Nice To Haves

  • CPM, APP, CPSM or equivalent certificates preferred.
  • SAP skills are helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Own and execute strategies for assigned categories, aligned with business objectives and long-term operational plans.
  • Lead sourcing initiatives across the full lifecycle, including opportunity identification, RFx execution, supplier evaluation, negotiation, award, and implementation.
  • Manage and optimize assigned spend, delivering measurable cost savings, value creation, and risk reduction.
  • Perform Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), should-cost, and cost-to-build analyses to support fact-based sourcing decisions.
  • Maintain a multi-year pipeline of savings initiatives aligned with enterprise productivity targets.
  • Lead and support negotiation of commercial contracts, including MSAs, SOWs, amendments, and other agreements.
  • Partner closely with Legal to ensure contract is aligned with company standards, risk tolerance, and compliance requirements.
  • Drive consistency in contractual terms, pricing structures, service levels, and risk allocation.
  • Manage contract lifecycle activities, including renewals, amendments, performance obligations, and issue resolution.
  • Provide guidance to stakeholders on contractual implications, commercial terms, and supplier commitments.
  • Identify, qualify, and develop suppliers capable of supporting Sargento’s requirements.
  • Lead supplier selection, onboarding, performance management, and scorecard processes.
  • Conduct supplier business reviews focused on cost, quality, delivery, innovation, and risk.
  • Monitor market trends, cost drivers, capacity constraints, and emerging technologies relevant to assigned categories.
  • Serve as a trusted sourcing partner to stakeholders and Project teams.
  • Collaborate with Finance on budgeting, forecasting, and savings validation.
  • Ensure sourcing engagement follows defined governance, sourcing policies, and approval processes.
  • Collaborate with Business Partners to deliver year-over-year productivity and operating efficiencies.
  • Ongoing pursuit of operational efficiencies with suppliers to drive additional value to the organization.
  • May manage or mentor sourcing team members or category resources, depending on scope.
  • Drive continuous improvement in sourcing processes, tools, and supplier engagement models.
  • Support change management initiatives related to sourcing, contracting, and supplier processes.
