About The Position

The Sourcing Manager is responsible for the timely and cost-effective strategic sourcing of complex goods and/or services within the assigned categories. This role focuses on the development and execution of category strategies based on rigorous analysis of spend data, market dynamics, category intelligence, business requirements, continuous/sustainable supply of quality goods and/or services and optimizing costs while ensuring compliance with organizational policies and enhancing supplier performance. Job Description Essential Functions Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson. Strategic Mindset: Execute sourcing strategies for assigned categories, ensuring cost-effective procurement, adherence to policies and procedures. Ensures savings are delivered promptly and that the enterprise is achieving the realization of expected benefits. Policies and procedures: Implements process improvements for operational efficiency at sourcing. Vendor and contract management: Conduct supplier research, RFPs (Request for Proposals), and contract negotiations within assigned categories. Developing and executing negotiation strategies to maximize total value and minimize risk. Manage day-to-day vendor relationship including but not limited to, contracts, consignment agreements, rental agreements among others. Recommends vendor selections and contract terms for review by Strategic Sourcing leadership. Presents bid submission results to Strategic Sourcing leadership and appropriate stakeholders to aid in decision making around sourcing events. Market analysis and trend monitoring: Monitor vendor performance, resolve supply chain issues, and ensure contract compliance. The goal of this role is to eventually become an SME (Subject Matter Expert) in assigned categories. Regularly monitoring the market for category-leading practices and demand/supply shifts, such as supply consolidation and technology innovations. Leverage market data, external expert resources, spend analytics, and cost modeling to drive fact-based decision making. Cross-functional collaboration: Collaborate with internal departments (clinical teams, finance, logistics, value analysis) to address sourcing needs. Partnering with key stakeholders to build influence, evaluate, and set targets for sourcing activities for assigned complex categories. Financial and operational performance: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of sourcing initiatives and make data-driven decisions. Track supplier performance and ensure compliance with contract terms. Preparing and presenting business cases and should-cost models. Performing complex data analysis and building financial models (i.e., ROI, supplier scorecards, savings tracking, make vs. buy decision models).

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferable in healthcare administration, business, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in sourcing, or the facilitation and negotiation of contracts within strategic or supply chain, or developing, initiating, and managing sourcing strategies, or identifying and implementing sourcing objectives and goals supporting organizational strategies, or experience within a Supply Chain capability area relevant to Strategic Sourcing
