About The Position

Intralox, L.L.C., a division of Laitram, L.L.C., and a global provider of conveyance solutions and services, has a position available for a Strategic Sourcing Engineer at our Hanover, MD location. In this role the qualified individual will be a part of the Intralox Baltimore Supply Chain Team in a hybrid role of technical and supply chain expert. The SCM utilizes category expertise and technical aptitude to interface engineering, R&D, project and product management teams to assist and guide in the development of optimized solutions. SCMs also rely on industry knowledge and commercial skills to deliver efficient supply chain solutions. Technical aptitude, effective communication, teamwork, and a desire to learn are critical to this role. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering
  • 5+ years' experience in industry relevant engineering, industry relevant technical sales, supplier management, or supplier development
  • High technical aptitude with demonstrated ability to read/interpret mechanical & electrical drawings
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills-able to influence at all organization levels
  • Proven leadership, planning and team-building skills
  • Ability to prepare and give impactful presentations
  • Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Willing/able to travel domestically ~30%

Nice To Haves

  • Industry experience in Material Handling/Conveyor/Automation
  • Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) System familiarity
  • A bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business management, or related field

Responsibilities

  • Ensure new product development supplier specifications conform with Intralox Category Management Principles
  • Lead supplier qualification and onboarding from RFQ through production release
  • Diagnose and resolve supplier delivery and technical issues using root-cause/problem-solving techniques
  • Develop and execute supplier improvement plans (cost, lead time, capacity)
  • Manage vendor relationships: performance reviews, capability development, and contract/expectation alignment
  • Coordinate cross-functional supplier tasks (purchasing, engineering, installation, operations)
  • Build strategic, long-term supplier partnerships that create mutual growth opportunities and support customer acquisition
