As a Strategic Sourcing Director within PNC's Supply Chain organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA. PNC is seeking an experienced senior leader with a proven ability to lead teams to deliver the best collective business outcomes for PNC, our clients, and our shareholders. The role will manage a team of approximately 5-10 Sourcing team members with responsibility for Sourcing over $1B in annual spend across various products and services in support of our retail banking business areas including Credit Card, Debit Card, ATM, Digital Banking, Deposits, and others. This leader will be expected to interact with executive leadership regularly, understanding and enabling strategic priorities, and proactively advising team members and business partners on Sourcing, Procurement, Contracting, and general business best practices. This leader and their team will be responsible for sourcing categories across technology, hardware, physical goods, and services in support of the various retail businesses. Some specific categories examples include Card Processing, Card Network Agreements, Card Plastics Manufacturing and Personalization, ATM Hardware, ATM Maintenance, Print, Mailing, Banking Core Solutions, Merchant Services, Fraud, Digital Payments, Rewards, and others. Further this individual will be a member of the Sourcing Leadership Team and expected to play a role in continually evaluating the Sourcing Process at PNC, making recommendations for improvements, and leading improvement efforts in pursuit of continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Strategic Sourcing Process (8+ Years Experience. Expert in conducting Market Landscapes, RFIs, RFPs, and other events to optimize supplier selection)
  • Leadership (5+ Years of Management Experience, Demonstrated Experience Coaching and Developing Talent, etc.)
  • Strategic Thinking (Negotiation Strategy, Category Strategy, Supplier Strategies, etc.)
  • Contract Negotiation & Redlining (Cost structures, SLAs, Payment Terms, Termination Rights, etc.)
  • Expert Communicator including Executive Communication
  • Financial Analysis (Total Cost Analysis, Savings Analysis, etc.)
  • Customer Service (Accountability, Follow Through, Responsiveness, etc.)
  • Influence (Ability to obtain buy-in across a diverse group of stakeholders)
  • Process Improvement (Lean Six Sigma Certifications are a preferred)
  • Knowledge of Procurement Technologies (Source to Pay, Contract Lifecycle Management, Etc.)
  • Awareness of Evolving Procurement Technology Landscape

  • Proven ability to drive significant P&L benefits (Cost Savings, Cost Avoidance, Revenue Generation, etc.)
  • Financial Services/ Banking Industry Experience Preferred
  • Successful candidates must demonstrate appropriate knowledge, skills, and abilities for a role.
  • Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree.
  • Industry-relevant experience is typically 8+ years.
  • At least 5 years of prior management experience is typically required.
  • Proven leadership experience with a moderate to large scope of responsibility is required.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the research, evaluation, negotiation, and selection of suppliers to acquire high-quality, cost-effective goods and services.
  • Manages a team of individual contributors and managers that prepare complex purchasing assignments requiring vendor selection and pricing comparisons.
  • Ensures that the team is consulting with vendors to obtain optimum pricing and contractual terms.
  • Researches and negotiates highly complex organizational purchases.
  • Oversees the team's negotiates with vendors to obtain optimum quality, cost, terms, etc.
  • Responsible for the team's activities in developing and monitoring the effectiveness of purchasing strategies and initiates improvements as necessary.
  • Responsible for contributing to department strategy, management, process improvements, and policy.
