About The Position

Inside the Role Establishes supplier relationship management processes and continuous improvement goals/programs. Negotiates contracts and coordinating supplier integration plans with internal clients. Monitors market dynamics that impact materials/services availability and/or pricing. Partners with internal clients to identify sourcing needs, develop buyer/market profiles, identify marketplace trends, and define acceptable service levels. What you drive at DTNA: Take the lead on managing commodities and developing/executing strategic direction for high-voltage (HV) powernet and charging components. Develop an understanding of critical commodities and the associated market conditions, legislation, industry trends, processes, suppliers, cost drivers, etc. for definition and documentation of sourcing strategies and establishment of performance goals. Provide strategic leadership and management of suppliers to achieve best in class performance in cost, quality, supply, and technology leadership. Award new parts to suppliers to meet timelines, analyzing total business case including price, logistics, quality, delivery, and strategic direction for the commodities. Negotiate commercial agreements with suppliers to drive overall cost savings and long-term cost stability. Manage raw material agreements with suppliers. Resolve commercial operational issues in a timely manner with suppliers including pricing and contractual terms. Support cross-functional team members for supplier sourcing topics. Prepare presentations and present to senior leadership. Align strategy and opportunities with relevant local and global Purchasing, Engineering and Product Strategy counterparts. In conjunction with Engineering, identify, select, and develop suppliers that provide technology leadership.

Requirements

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering, materials science, logistics, or related technical discipline or 8 years of experience in lieu of degree.
  • Requires 2-4 years of relevant experience, such as contract negotiations and supplier selection/management or zero-emissions vehicle technology.
  • Experience in purchase of technical commodities and implementation of best practices.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills and the demonstrated ability to lead and manage projects and cross-functional teams.
  • Analytical thought to independently solve complex problems with minimal guidance and to identify solutions.
  • Ability to prioritize and allocate resources to align with department and company goals.
  • Ability to work within tight timeframes and meet strict deadlines.
  • Proven track record to deliver results and achieve goals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to create strong working relationships.
  • Ability to analyze, organize and summarize large amounts of data into key terms.
  • Proactive, self-starter and quick learner with the ability to work well in a collaborative team environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Fluent in English both written and verbal.
