About The Position

Under limited supervision this position will: Be responsible for all aspects of the procurement process for projects of moderate to high complexity including, pre-qualification of potential suppliers, RFX (request for proposal, information, bid) issuance, proposal evaluation including complex pricing analysis, and negotiation of resultant agreements. Review and recommend appropriate vendors based on cost and quality of the bid specifications to the stakeholder. Identify cost savings opportunities through experience-based solutions. Focus on leveraging current and projected spend, product/ service/ supplier consolidation, analytics and market knowledge. Maintain a relationship with the vendors to obtain information about new products and services and evaluate the vendor’s performance. Submit the analysis/ summary and prepare the information to present to the stakeholder. Confer with department managers and employees relative to purchase order procedures, purchasing needs, feedback, and special problems, and work with appropriate parties to resolve issues. Enter data and monitor the movement of materials through the production cycle, and maintain inventory at planned levels. Generate purchase orders and work orders to submit to Project Managers for approval. Ensure purchase orders meet Delegation of Authority (DOA), and work orders are sent to contractors/ suppliers to execute appropriate approvals. File approved purchase and work orders for reference, backup, and/ or audit. Provide ongoing communication and updates on the status of the request from the stakeholder. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least five (5) years of experience in Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, or Buying.
  • Understanding of Procurement contracts.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including MS Excel and Word.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders and vendors/ suppliers.
  • Ability to plan, analyze, and evaluate data.
  • High ethical and professional behavior and decision making when dealing with suppliers.
