About The Position

The Strategic Projects Manager is responsible for executing capital projects, facility expansions, and supporting acquisition evaluations as directed by the Manager of Capital Improvements and Development. This hands-on leadership role manages projects ranging from a few million to hundreds of millions of dollars, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery while maintaining quality and safety standards. The position includes direct management of Project Engineers and requires close collaboration with QA, Engineering, and Operations teams to drive successful project execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Construction Management, or related field
  • Ability to travel 30% nationally within the USA.
  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in capital project management or construction management
  • 2+ years of experience managing and developing engineering or project management professionals
  • Hands-on experience executing large-scale capital projects ($10M+) from planning through commissioning
  • Strong project management skills including scheduling, budgeting, and resource management
  • Financial acumen including budget development, cost control, and variance analysis
  • Experience with acquisition due diligence or facility integration projects preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
  • Strong collaboration skills working with Engineering, QA, and Operations teams
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools (MS Project, Primavera, or similar)
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
  • Willingness to travel to multiple facility locations and project sites (30%)

Nice To Haves

  • Engineering degree (Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, or Civil)
  • Background in manufacturing or multi-site industrial operations
  • PMP certification or equivalent project management credentials
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, or other design software
  • Lean Six Sigma training
  • Construction management or contractor oversight experience
