The Strategic Project Manager (SPM) plays a crucial role in overseeing health system-wide strategic and operating projects at Tampa General Hospital. Reporting to the Director of the Project & Results Management Office, the SPM integrates with C-Suite leadership and service line executives to ensure successful project management through all phases, from business planning to benefit realization. This position requires strong interpersonal skills, the ability to manage multiple project teams, and expertise in project management methodologies.

  • Integrate with C-Suite leadership and service line executives to provide project management oversight.
  • Lead assigned strategic projects through business planning, capital allocation, project execution, and results management phases.
  • Manage people and activities necessary to complete assigned strategic projects.
  • Utilize PMBOK or DMAIC methodology to execute project management activities.
  • Review legal documentation and prepare analysis of current and future processing states.
  • Identify and recommend solutions to project risks and gather responses from stakeholders.
  • Prepare, manage, and implement detailed work plans and project documentation.
  • Manage established project budgets and supervise contracted project personnel activities.
  • Serve as liaison between hospital and partner/vendor personnel.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum of five years' healthcare experience required.
  • Master's degree (MSN, MBA, or MHA) accepted in lieu of 3 years' work experience.
  • Associate's degree with 7 years of experience accepted.
  • Project management PMP certification or relevant healthcare work experience required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build effective strategic business relationships.
  • Excellent communication and strong business writing skills.
  • Ability to interpret data, draw conclusions, and formulate plans independently.
  • Superior meeting facilitation, public speaking, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage conflict in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced PC skills, including expert level in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with project management software (e.g., Project, Asana, Workfront).
