About The Position

Buckland is looking for a Strategic Project Manager What you’ll be doing The Strategic Project Manager is, responsible for leading high-impact transformation initiatives that drive efficiency, scalability, and cross-border operational excellence. This role leads multidisciplinary teams and serves as a key liaison across Operations, IT, Finance, and external partners in the USA, MEX and CAD. The position plays a critical role in delivering major initiatives at the assigned territory, including integration to global initiatives. Requirements

  • University degree in finance or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of program or project management experience delivering complex IT or business transformation initiatives.
  • Strong leadership, communication, decision-making, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Extensive experience with Mexico land, air, and ocean customs operations; experience across the USA, MEX, CAD preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage vendors, budgets, and performance metrics.
  • Experience with logistics, brokerage, or supply chain operational platforms; ERP implementation experience (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics) preferred.
  • Solid understanding of business analysis, SDLC (Agile/Waterfall), and change management principles.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills; able to influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Highly organized and process-driven, with a proactive and pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and able to quickly learn new tools.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required;Willingness to travel up to 20% across USA, MEX and CAD.
  • Must be legally eligible to work for the Company at all times
  • Valid Passport and ability and desire to occasionally travel in USA, MEX and CAD.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale transformation projects across Southern Border operations.
  • Define and manage project scope, objectives, success metrics, timelines, and deliverables aligned with business strategy.
  • Oversee project budgets, vendors, and contractual deliverables to ensure cost-effective execution.
  • Lead and develop cross-functional teams (Business Analysts, Developers, SMEs) to deliver projects on time and on budget.
  • Establish project governance, reporting, and delivery frameworks that support continuous improvement.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, resolve roadblocks, and maintain momentum.
  • Build trust and credibility with executives and operational leaders by delivering consistent, transparent communication.

  • Implement best practices for requirements gathering, documentation, and traceability throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop, execute and drive change management strategies that focus on employee adoption, engagement, minimizing resistance and post launch support.
