About The Position

Under the general supervision of the Vice President of Planning, Operations, and Construction (POC), the Strategic Project Coordinator supports the administration, operations, and project delivery for POC and the execution of processes and procedures related to all aspects of the department, including ad hoc strategic projects. This position is intended for 6 months with the possibility of extension toward the end of the assignment. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Construction, or a related field
  • 5+ years of professional work experience
  • Strong English written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with an emphasis on managing multiple tasks
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a professional demeanor, and meet required deadlines
  • Ability to utilize a variety of Pepperdine systems and software, including our Project Management Information System (PMIS), Kahua
  • Proficiency in Google Suite, Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat

  • Knowledge of and experience in higher education
  • Knowledge of and experience in design and construction project documentation, procedures, and protocols
  • 5 - 7 years of experience in higher education and/or design and construction

Responsibilities

  • Act as a strategic partner to the Vice President in the execution of all on-campus and off-campus capital planning initiatives. Research, analyze, and synthesize information to support planning decisions. Draft high-level correspondence and memoranda on behalf of the Vice President as required.
  • Lead coordination and communication among internal and external stakeholders, consultants, and contractors to support complex capital projects. Manage project-related workflows, identify issues and recommend solutions to ensure the smooth execution of strategic goals. Organize and facilitate meetings, develop agendas based on project priorities.
  • Prepare executive summaries and presentations on the status of various departmental efforts and capital projects. Represent the Vice President in meetings with internal and external stakeholders, providing guidance and making recommendations that influence project direction and outcomes.
  • Perform a broad range of administrative tasks, including maintain files, track paperwork, and review project notifications.
  • Research, prepare, and present reports and presentations as requested.
  • Provide customer service to ensure departmental objectives are met.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
