About The Position

Position at ReParts LLC Requirements: Economic Analysis Experience 5+ years Oil and Gas with 2+ years minimum work experience within a resource play focused subsurface team as a reservoir engineer. Experience (2 + years) performing economic evaluations of energy investments through after tax cash flow and income modeling. Practical knowledge of upstream topics including resource assessment, asset planning and production forecasting as well as facility types and associated capital. Familiarity with energy investments beyond upstream, including midstream (LPG, NGL, liquefaction (Methanol, LNG), re-gas, marketing, crude and product transport a plus. Ability to effectively interact with a variety of disciplines including engineering, geosciences, business development, legal, tax, finance, accounting and management. Familiarity with principles of tax and income calculation. Understanding of standard corporate financial reporting a plus. Decision Analysis/Portfolio Experience with decision analysis including problem framing, simulation (decision trees and Monte Carlo), result interpretation and communication, value of control and value of information. Ability to perform in depth analysis of portfolio model results including ad hoc analysis to interpret portfolio model results and to communicate those interpretations in ways easily understood by the groups using model outputs. Ability to effectively lead asset framing sessions to prepare information loads into portfolio model – requires group facilitation, strategy development, decision model construction, uncertainty evaluation, expert assessment, and communication of insights with all parties. Ability to combine business unit evaluations to produce a view of the financial and operating performance of the overall portfolio under uncertainty and evaluating different strategies for the company. Ability to maintain accuracy while converting detailed data on parameters like production curves, expense assumptions, capital assumptions, marketing deducts, shrinkage, etc. to high level inputs for the portfolio model.

  • Degree: Bachelors Required
  • Major: Petroleum or Reservoir Engineering, MBA a plus
  • Computer Proficiencies: Advanced skills in Word, Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint required.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with energy investments beyond upstream, including midstream (LPG, NGL, liquefaction (Methanol, LNG), re-gas, marketing, crude and product transport a plus.
  • Understanding of standard corporate financial reporting a plus.
  • VBA, Decisioneering Crystal Ball, Palisade @Risk, Aries / Enersight, and portfolio modeling tool such as Perspectives / Palantir preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain portfolio model within MRO integrated planning process.
  • Use portfolio model to run and analyze evaluations of the MRO base portfolio, acquisitions, divestitures, capital allocation options, planning scenarios and sensitivity runs for variables such as price forecasts, cost estimates, and other market conditions.
  • Create model outputs suited to various customers such as inputs to financial planning models, executive presentations, guidance on model outputs to asset teams, etc.
  • Perform quality control reviews to validate the integrity of the portfolio model and results to ensure consistency between the portfolio model and other analyses being performed in other parts of the company.
  • Assist business units with administration of data flowing to the portfolio model including production estimates, cost estimates, operating factors, drilling inventory, etc.
