About The Position

This student employment partnership engages Ringling College INDEX students in the development of a strategic plan focused on nonpartisan civic engagement and voter participation. Students will collaborate with a client and faculty to research, design, and refine a strategic roadmap that will inform subsequent graphic design and implementation efforts. This role is designed as a professional learning experience that supports applied strategic planning, client communication, and collaborative teamwork within an academic context. Requirements

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and communicate clearly with a client.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of business or strategic planning concepts.
  • Ability to create, edit, and refine a strategic plan that outlines actionable tactics for execution.
  • Ability to self-direct projects and manage time effectively with minimal supervision; must be organized, reliable, and able to follow through on assignments.
  • Ability to proactively seek input, communicate progress, and initiate work when appropriate.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills, including a strong command of the English language and attention to detail (including proofreading prior to submission).
  • High level of organization, including understanding the importance of consistent file naming conventions, file setup, and asset organization.
  • Dependability and flexibility in meeting scheduled work commitments.
  • Must be enrolled at Ringling College of Art and Design
  • Applicants must submit: A resume. A portfolio or work samples demonstrating strategic thinking, planning, or written communication skills (academic projects acceptable).

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the client to understand the project goals, scope, and constraints.
  • Review and interpret client expectations and project requirements.
  • Conduct research and contribute to the development of a strategic plan aligned with project objectives.
  • Receive feedback from the client and instructor and refine concepts to achieve approval.
  • Produce a finalized strategic plan to be used as a roadmap for a graphic design team.
  • Maintain organized digital files using consistent file naming conventions and asset labeling.
  • Communicate progress, questions, and challenges proactively with team members, the client, and the instructor.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned in support of the project.
