About The Position

A Strategic Policy Analyst is sought to support Department of Defense missions at USCENTCOM in Tampa, FL. This role involves strategic and operational planning, high-level analysis, and coordination with military and civilian partners.

Requirements

  • 3+ years with a Bachelor's degree in a related field, or
  • 1+ year with a Master's degree in a related field, or
  • 7+ years with a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong verbal and written communication.
  • Strategic thinking and analytical capabilities.
  • Must possess and maintain an active TS-SCI clearance.
  • Writing Sample: Required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working at a major command, combatant command, or service-level headquarters (USCENTCOM AOR experience preferred).
  • J5 experience is highly desired, particularly in strategic planning, policy development, and interagency coordination.
  • Ability to synthesize discussions into strategic documents such as talking points and information papers.
  • Proficiency in developing briefing materials and strategic communications for senior leadership.
  • Familiarity with national security documents (e.g., National Security Strategy, National Defense Strategy, National Military Strategy, Unified Command Plan).
  • Strong research and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Identify long-term objectives and strategic plans for military headquarters or major divisions.
  • Monitor internal and external strategic issues affecting growth, effectiveness, and operations.
  • Analyze regional and national-level policies impacting military strategy in the USCENTCOM Area of Responsibility (AOR).
  • Develop and maintain strategic and operational plans, including profitability and productivity assessments.
  • Prepare briefings and strategic documents for senior military and civilian leadership.
  • Coordinate operational reviews, resource allocations, and organizational structures.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships to support planning and event synchronization with partner organizations.
