About the position
This job is for a Strategic Partnerships Fellow at SIRUM, a non-profit startup that connects people with surplus medications to improve health equity. The Fellow will work directly with the co-founders and be responsible for growing the medicine donor base, supporting existing donors, and leading special projects. The ideal candidate will be passionate about the company's vision, a project management expert, detail-oriented, a problem solver, and resourceful. The job is located in Palo Alto, CA or Metro ATL and pays a salary range of $50,000 - $60,000.
Responsibilities
- Growing the medicine donor base by exploring new industries and enterprise-level groups to find new sources of surplus, conducting market research, owning scheduling, making calls, and managing follow-up to keep relationships on track.
- Supporting the existing medicine donor community by answering questions and troubleshooting issues via emails, texts, and calls, and conceptualizing and leading new initiatives to highlight the impact they’re having on families’ lives and share that with the donor community.
- Leading special projects such as managing a large donation of emergency contraceptive to help 30,000 women get access, setting up calls, leading the charge coordinating to clinics, and working out logistics like shipping and manifests, or managing the launch of a pilot program to collect surplus chemotherapeutic and other oncology medications, coordinating with oncology centers across the country.
- Passionate about the vision to get every pill to a person in need, the belief that technology can correct this market inefficiency, and the eagerness to build a national solution.
- A project management monster who excels at organizing themselves and others, defining project goals and outlining milestones, executing fairly independently, and delivering final products on-time.
- Detail-oriented with a great deal of precision, implementing the rigor needed to work in healthcare where the work impacts the lives of others.
- A problem solver who enjoys digging into the complexity of problems, understanding the need to “go down the rabbit hole” to learn why something isn’t working so they can find a solution, not just put a bandaid on it.
- Resourceful, innovating to make their job easier, but having no problem rolling up their sleeves to do what it takes to make things successful.
- A self-starter with some experience in start-ups and/or social enterprise and a bachelor's degree.
