About The Position

Stanley Black & Decker's Global Tools and Outdoor business is currently seeking candidates for a Strategic Insights Manager, DIY Brands. The Strategic Insights Manager for DIY Brands will be at the forefront of shaping the future of our business. This role is pivotal in driving impactful change by influencing our business strategy, our brand and product portfolio, and integrated marketing planning. With a relentless focus on understanding the end user, shopper, and marketplace dynamics, the Strategic Insights Manager will lead the charge in providing insights for new product development and portfolio management, ensuring that we remain a global leader for appliances, tools and outdoor with our DIY brands. As a Strategic Insights Manager, you'll be part of our Insights team working as a hybrid employee.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required, MBA preferred.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in Consumer Insights and/or a combination of Brand Development, Marketing Strategy, or at a research vendor.
  • Experience building holistic learning plans that integrate data, trends, and primary research.
  • Experience blending quantitative & qualitative learning for a clear story and action plan.
  • Proven ability to influence a diverse set of stakeholders, including external partners.

Responsibilities

  • Build foundational consumer, shopper and market understanding for brands in the DIY portfolio.
  • Leverage consumer and market understanding to identify and drive into strategic plans promising growth opportunities for the brand, retailer and channel.
  • Create immersive experiences that bring the needs of the consumer and shopper to life for business teams.
  • Create and implement strategic learning plans to address the most critical questions for the business.
  • Acquire, synthesize, and socialize trends to inspire innovation.
  • Guide specific research development and execution using expertise in a variety of research methods.
  • Synthesize disparate data and make recommendations grounded in consumer and market knowledge and guided by a broader sense of the business.
  • Vet agency and vendor partner capabilities for regional and global scale.
  • Select suppliers to partner with and shares experiences openly with the consumer insights community.
  • Identify innovative tools and new ways of working to deliver more impactful results.
  • Build advocacy for sustained organizational investment in consumer and shopper understanding.
  • Coach and mentor more junior team members.
