About The Position

Reporting to the Director of IT Operations, the Strategic Infrastructure Engineer is tasked with designing, installing, administering, and optimizing Genetec Streamvault video servers and related components to achieve and maintain high performance of Genetec video applications. This includes ensuring the availability of client/server applications, configuring new implementations, and assisting with the development of processes and procedures for ongoing management of the server environment. Scope of responsibilities includes server hardware, Windows Server operating systems, core Microsoft back-office technologies, and 3rd party infrastructure software and applications. Proactively monitor video managements systems for outages and deficiencies.

Requirements

  • Technical expertise in Microsoft Active Directory 2012/2016/2019 on premise and AD Services in MS Azure including Users & Computers. Group Policies, DNS, Federation Services, SSO, and NTFS permissions.
  • Best practice knowledge and troubleshooting of Active Directory, User and Group administration, Group Policy (MCSA certification preferred).
  • Experience with virtualization, hypervisors, and guests (Microsoft).
  • Experience with Genetec StreamVault Servers.
  • Experience with SC (Imaging, windows updates & security).
  • Understanding of core networking concepts and services such as TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, switching, routing, and WAN/ISP connectivity.
  • Understanding of Infrastructure (Nutanix, UCS, Dell).
  • Possession of an associates or higher degree, from an accredited college or university, in an IT related Discipline AND/OR two (2) or more years of work experience of a relevant nature.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional system administration experience is required. Experience should include at least 1 year of designing, implementing, and supporting the following core Microsoft technologies: Windows Server, Active Directory, Windows Clustering, WSUS, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Possession of a valid Driver’s License and proof of vehicle insurance, with the ability to operate a motor vehicle.
  • Required to be capable of working any shift assigned, including days, afternoons, or midnights; must be capable of working holidays and weekends; must be capable of working mandatory overtime; must be capable of working a rotating, on-call schedule for after-hours support.

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum of 5 years professional system administration experience, including at least 1 years designing, implementing, and supporting the following core Microsoft technologies: Windows Server, Active Directory, Windows Clustering, WSUS, DNS, DHCP, and experience with Storage area networking.
  • MCSA certification.
  • COMP TIA Network Plus certification.
  • Low voltage audio/video installation knowledge.
  • Access control systems knowledge.
  • Genetec Security Center Troubleshooting Certification.
  • Experience in Data center implementation.
  • Experience with network architecture, build out, and expansion.
  • Experience with managing IoT (Internet of things devices) such as Cameras & Door Locks.
