About The Position

The Strategic Finance Associate will be a key member of Caribou’s Finance organization focused on setting, managing and accelerating the overall financial targets for Caribou’s Sales & Operations, Technology and Product functions. This role sits squarely at the cross-section of Finance, Strategy and Operations supported by a world class Finance, Accounting, Analytics & Data Science team and wider business leaders. This role will report to Caribou’s Senior Manager, Corporate Finance and drive fundamental impacts to the business with significant exposure to Caribou’s senior leadership team. In this role, you will… Partner with key stakeholders primarily within Sales & Operations, Technology and Product, but more widely across the organization to create financial visibility and apply sound financial theory to assist in setting business priorities. Create and structure financial models needed in support of greenfield initiatives as well as scale core offerings. Think strategically and leverage analysis from models to aid in decision making. Ensure and validate efficient capital deployment and management across Caribou’s Sales & Operations, Technology and Product departments. Work closely with the Accounting function to anchor to actuals and proactively identify trends surfacing in the financials. Assist in conducting ad-hoc analysis and preparing recurring reporting deliverables with cross-functional teams. Support a variety of investor, capital investment and planning and Board reporting deliverables. Capture the entirety of financial implications across Caribou’s P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash position. Continuously develop, innovate and elevate analysis and reporting highlighting key insights that drive action. This role can be based out of our Caribou office in Denver, CO. Alternatively, this role may work remotely from a state where Caribou operates with a preference for the Chicago, IL, Denver, CO or San Francisco, CA markets. This role may require attendance at occasional in-person team meetings.

Requirements

  • 2 - 4 years of Finance experience within a high growth technology environment, investment banking, private equity, corporate finance and / or corporate strategy.
  • Sound understanding of financial statements and financial theory.
  • Advanced Excel skills and data-driven approach to solving complex financial decisions, with very strong attention to detail.
  • A critical thinker who can clearly articulate color commentary around a number and make sound and data-supported recommendations / conclusions.
  • Experience with data visualization and financial reporting tools such as Looker, NetSuite, Microsoft Office and Google Suite products.
  • Strong sense of ownership in work quality and continuous improvement with past demonstration of independent work management.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA and / or CFA (designation or in progress) a plus.
