About The Position

This role will lead various fleet strategic controls functions. This position focuses on overall fleet Long Range Plan (LRP) development, Budget Management, Software Integrations (Life Cycle Management), KPIs, Fleet Metrics, Special Projects and Strategic Initiatives. Focus will be to provide cost and budget development and monitoring, project estimating support and coordination, procurement and contracts support, and administrative support to the fleet organization. This position is responsible for acting as sponsor for the health of the plant systems.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • BS in Engineering, BA in Business or Construction Management (recommended)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (recommended)
  • At least 10 years of experience in a combined finance, construction or project controls/management roll (ideal, those with less experience may be considered depending on role, project involvement, etc.
  • 5 years management/supervision of Project Controls functions (budgeting, scheduling, project support or project management)

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for development, implementation, monitoring and reporting of project financial performance across the fleet utilizing key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Responsible for development, implementation, monitoring and reporting of fleet metrics.
  • Assist the development of the yearly VISTRA Long Range Plan (LRP).
  • Review and update of fleet engineering budget on a yearly basis.
  • Ensure consistent work practices and sharing of knowledge to optimize efforts in budget management activities.
  • Oversee and manage special fleet engineering level projects and strategic initiatives.
  • Collaborate cross functionally with online and outage management to improve equipment reliability.
  • Assist with software integrations (i.e. Life Cycle Management) to track long lead time large component procurement.
  • Facilitate staffing activities and staff development.
  • Direct the activities of the individual contributors within the group and coordinate station level responses across work groups.
