About The Position

Equal Rights Advocates (ERA) is a 501(c)3 national nonprofit organization that fights for gender justice. For more than 50 years, ERA has led the country in protecting and expanding economic and educational access and opportunities for women, girls, and gender-expansive people. Through litigation, policy advocacy, and public education, our work advances gender, racial, and economic equity.

ERA’s Communications Internship program is designed to help social-justice minded, creative, and social media-savvy undergraduate students gain knowledge and experience in pursuit of a career in nonprofit communications, digital marketing, social media, and content creation. We are seeking to host two Communications Interns in the Summer 2026 (June - August).

Requirements

• Demonstrated interest in and commitment to civil rights, gender equity, and social justice
• Strong written communication skills are required
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously and work well collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Canva preferred
• Experience with video creation or editing preferred
