About The Position

At Lam, as a Strategic Commodity Manager, you play a crucial role in managing industry suppliers. You’ll develop and implement commodity strategies, align development deliverables, benchmark suppliers, negotiate agreements, and resolve delivery, cost, and production challenges. Navigating a highly visible and dynamic environment, your strategic expertise in implementing initiatives will support commodity availability, quality, and cost to maintain Lam's reliability and competitive edge.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or a technical field listed herein (but not limited to) the following: Electrical Engineering or Industrial Engineering, with 12 years of related experience; or 8 years and a Master's degree; or 5 years and a PhD; or equivalent experience.
  • 12 years of experience in a Supply Chain, Operations, or production/planning environment. Preferably in the Semiconductor industry.
  • Ability to understand Power Supply technical documents (i.e., specifications/schematics/drawings) and function within semiconductor manufacturing tools.
  • Exceptional interpersonal relationship skills and professional level of emotional intelligence necessary to achieve the desired objective deliverables.
  • Proven experience of strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a history of successful resolution.
  • Excellent analytical and written/oral communication skills with the ability to communicate cross-functionally and with various levels of the organization, including executives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, align, and implement commodity strategy.
  • Understand the commodity landscape in order to forecast industry trends and gauge emerging competitive forces.
  • Negotiate, manage, and maintain supplier agreements that provide optimal terms.
  • Direct new supplier engagement and/or disengagement requirements to the Lam supply base.
  • Collaborate across the Lam organization to ensure business objectives are met.
  • Identify potential supply issues and communicate findings to senior leaders.
  • Drive resolution of systemic supply chain issues affecting cost, delivery, quality, service, and development support.
  • Optimize supply chain/supplier performance through cost, capacity scenario analysis, and benchmarking.
  • Develop and present high-level cost savings opportunities.
  • Drive formal supplier performance reviews.
  • Assess and mitigate supply chain risks to Lam business.
  • Assess supplier continuity plans and align to Lam business needs.
  • Manage supply chain disruptions in real time with support from Lam Global Operations.
