About The Position

The Strategic Client Executive on our Employee Health & Benefits team plays a key role in delivering advanced client service by resolving claims, billing, and eligibility issues to support clients. They independently manage complex client portfolios, maintaining relationships with HR, Finance, and C-suite leaders, and oversee all deliverables and timelines to ensure accuracy and timeliness. They contribute to the strategic direction of client engagement, collaborating with internal teams, leading staff training, and fostering positive relationships across all client levels. They keep stakeholders informed of updates and work with Consultants to align client strategies with market trends and benchmarking data, including insights from the Mercer Survey. The role involves coordinating with the Client Service Support team to review tasks, monitor progress, and strategize on upcoming projects, as well as guiding support and specialty teams on client data, proposals, and analysis across all coverage lines. Managing data entry into the Agency Management System and reviewing client census, benefits, rate data, and claims experience inform marketing and proposal strategies. They lead the RFP process by instructing support teams to gather documents, ensure request accuracy, suggest alternatives, and align proposals with client needs. They present proposals to internal stakeholders, participate in carrier negotiations, and contribute to strategic planning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in Employee Benefits or HR required; 7 years experience preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of applicable insurance products/lines inclusive of fully insured and self-funded markets.
  • Extensive knowledge of risk management techniques, employee benefits markets and marketing techniques.
  • Legal work authorization to work in the U.S. on a permanent and ongoing basis without the need for sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Life & Health License or ability to obtain within 90 days.
  • Prior broker experience desired.
