About The Position

As a Strategic Buyer at our US facility, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and compliance of all procurement-related activities. Reporting to the on-site Manager, Operations Planning & Control, you will manage day-to-day purchasing operations while supporting global procurement strategy. This role bridges global procurement objectives with local site needs. You will oversee supplier performance, contract management, warehouse-related service agreements, and procurement analytics—ensuring alignment with Tjoapack’s standards for quality, compliance, and customer-focused service. You will act as the local owner of procurement and supplier management processes, contributing directly to operational continuity, cost optimization, and supply chain reliability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of procurement experience; pharmaceutical or healthcare industry experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of global procurement processes and supplier management
  • Familiarity with cGMP and cGDP requirements
  • Experience in contract negotiation and supplier performance management
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, schedule, and monitor work to meet time and quality targets
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Experience conducting investigations and supporting root cause analysis
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (advanced Excel required); experience with ERP systems and data analysis tools such as Tableau is advantageous
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment

Responsibilities

  • Manage procurement requests and coordinate with internal teams to clarify specifications and requirements
  • Execute day-to-day purchasing activities to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services
  • Ensure effective stock management and facilitate removal of obsolete inventory
  • Prepare purchase orders and ensure accurate documentation in line with budget policies
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers
  • Conduct supplier performance evaluations and business reviews
  • Monitor supplier performance against quality, delivery, and cost expectations
  • Support onboarding of new suppliers in alignment with global standards
  • Assist in negotiating contract terms and conditions to secure favorable pricing and service levels
  • Support contract lifecycle management and ensure compliance with agreed terms
  • Maintain documentation related to supplier agreements
  • Prepare and present regular procurement and inventory reports to leadership
  • Utilize procurement data to forecast needs and assess strategy effectiveness
  • Manage warehouse-related service agreements (e.g., forklift preventive maintenance, waste disposal)
  • Manage freight agreements and pricing for TPU-responsible shipments
  • Evaluate warehouse space constraints and storage needs
  • Identify inefficiencies in procurement and warehouse processes
  • Propose and implement process or system improvements
  • Monitor and evaluate effectiveness of implemented improvements
  • Initiate and/or support Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Change Control (CC), Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA), Risk Assessments (RA), and validation activities in accordance with Tjoapack procedures
  • Foster strong internal collaboration across departments
  • Actively communicate with colleagues, customers, and suppliers
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute positively to team dynamics
  • Present procurement metrics and insights to leadership and stakeholders
