About The Position

To support continued growth and deliver exceptional service to our clients, our Health & Employee Benefits (HEB) team is looking for a Strategic Advisor. Strategic Advisors play a key part in managing and strengthening client relationships across the full benefits lifecycle - from onboarding and renewals to open enrollment, compliance support, and ongoing strategic guidance. Responsibilities include coordinating benefit marketing and renewals, leading client meetings, managing carrier and partner relationships, supporting open enrollment strategy and execution, maintaining accurate records and compliance documentation, and identifying coverage gaps and cross-selling opportunities. This role collaborates closely with Advisors, Client Service, carriers, TPAs, and internal leadership to ensure clients receive proactive, organized, and high-quality support year-round, while staying current on industry, regulatory, and carrier updates. Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years Health & Welfare senior level account management experience required in the large group market (51+), in MD/DC/VA
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university (or industry experience)
  • Active Life/Health License or ability to get licensed within first 90 days of employment
  • Current and relevant knowledge of legislation, market trends and issues affecting the Health & Welfare market
  • Thorough understanding of the marketing / vendor search process and the ability to manage the total process
  • Thorough understanding of medical, dental, life/AD&D, disability, vision, etc. coverage
  • Understanding of various benefits administration technology alternatives
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) with an ability to present and manage presentations covering complex topics
  • Effective time management skills that allow the candidate to effectively multi-task, as well as prioritize and organize complex projects and balance long term goals
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in appropriate software, including but not limited to Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams) and Adobe Acrobat

Nice To Haves

  • Thorough understanding of the self-insurance and reinsurance coverage concepts, preferred but not required
