About The Position

Essner Manufacturing is seeking detail-oriented individuals to form sheet metal. The ideal candidates will have previous experience in a manufacturing environment. This position involves handling a variety of tasks with accuracy and in a timely manner, requiring self-discipline and the ability to take direction. The role is based in Fort Worth, TX, and involves working with precision CNC machined and sheet metal components for the aerospace and defense industries.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Knowledge of Mylar and blueprint reading.
  • Basic knowledge of calipers and other checking equipment.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Three (3) years of experience in Straightening and/or Fabricating.

Nice To Haves

  • ERP/MRP experience with Epicor.
  • Five (5) years of experience in Straightening and/or Fabricating in the Aerospace industry.
  • Strong knowledge of Mylar and blueprint reading.
  • Strong knowledge of calipers and other checking equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Select proper hand tool combinations to achieve bend radii called out on customer or Essner Manufacturing supplied Mylar’s, prints, or shop aides.
  • Form parts according to customer or Essner Manufacturing supplied Mylar’s, prints, or shop aides.
  • Check work to customer or Essner Manufacturing supplied Mylar’s, prints, or shop aides to ensure all products meet all customer specs and requirements.
  • Straighten parts using hand tools provided.
  • Measure straightened workpiece for conformance with specifications, using straightedge, micrometers, and calipers.
  • Ensure first piece is verified by quality.
  • Straighten metal workpieces to blueprint specifications, using hand tools and knowledge of metal properties.
  • Roll workpiece on flat surface or mount and rotate it between centers to ascertain irregularities visually or with dial indicator.
  • Use a wide variety of basic hand finish tools and equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and instructions.
  • Perform work and inspection of precision parts.
  • Perform rework assignments as required.
  • Complete all parts paperwork and documentation properly.
  • Enter all data as required.
  • Inspect finished work to required specification.
