SUMMARY: The primary function of this position is to drive a straight truck and manually unload, using a two-wheeler on metal truck ramps, various products (meat, produce, frozen foods, dry goods, supplies) to customer sites while providing excellent customer service. It is further required that the above function be completed in a safe and timely manner and in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES and FUNCTIONS: Perform all pre-trip responsibilities including obtaining and reviewing driver itinerary for assigned deliveries, checking customer invoices of products that have been loaded, completing required trailer temperature checks and performing pre-trip safety check inspections of trucks and trailers according to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Drive to and deliver customer orders to meet the scheduled customer times and maintain adequate productivity rate to meet delivery schedules. Unload products from the trailer using a two-wheeler and place items in designated customer storage areas. Perform all post-trip responsibilities including unloading damaged goods and customer returns and completing necessary paperwork; performing safety checks on the truck and trailer, fueling, parking and securing the tractor/trailer and two-wheeler, completing DOT logs (electronic or manual as required) and company vehicle maintenance reports (DVIR) and turn in all paperwork as required by company. Establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department, the Company, and the community; and maintains the professional competence, knowledge, and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities. Performs such individual assignments as management may direct.
