As a Stormwater and Utility Engineer III, you will have the opportunity to lead the design and development of stormwater management and utility projects. Working closely with your project team, you will direct the design of effective and sustainable systems that mitigate flooding, management stormwater runoff for large-scale roadway and transportation projects, and enhance the efficiency of utility networks. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer to apply their technical knowledge and make a significant impact on the resilience and sustainability of large and small public infrastructure projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 4 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree in Engineering and 3 year of relevant experience, or PhD in Engineering and 2 years of relevant experience
  • Practical experience with stormwater design standards, including the rational method and TR-55 design manual
  • Practical experience with utility design standards and practice, including water supply and wastewater
  • Permitting experience, as support or lead, with local, state, and federal authorities, related to stormwater and flood management
  • Optimizing work processes by using knowledge of the most effective and efficient ways to get things done with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Independently progress the majority of designs and tasks required of the discipline.
  • Exhibiting experience with Microsoft Office Suite, and MicroStation and/or AutoCad.
  • Exhibiting a thorough understanding of the application related to engineering, geometric and algebraic principles.
  • Managing time, proactively forecasting, and communicating project development needs.

  • Master’s degree in Engineering
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification
  • American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification (depending on discipline)

Responsibilities

  • Completes assigned work within the schedule and number of hours provided.
  • Assist in the development of project specifications.
  • Responsible for development of discipline specific engineering project elements/deliverables such as reports, designs, and plans.
  • Aids in the coordination and productivity of project team members.
  • Provides technical guidance to less experienced engineering project team members.
  • Works closely with other disciplines and on multi-discipline projects.
  • Performs quality control reviews of discipline - specific engineering project elements/deliverables.
  • Assists with coordination and planning of schedules, hours, and distribution of work within discipline.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
