About The Position

The Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery is seeking to hire a Stores Clerk for the Alton Mental Health Center located in Alton, Illinois to perform routine clerical and manual tasks in the Business Office and Stores Unit. Operates forklifts and other equipment in loading, unloading, and transporting supplies and inventory weighing in excess of 50 lbs. with assistance. Re-packs stock for distribution. Picks and fulfills orders for supplies to all departments within the facility as required. Assists in taking physical inventories.

Requirements

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years high school.
  • Requires the ability to lift in excess of 50 lbs. with assistance.
  • Requires the ability to use a forklift.
  • Requires a valid driver’s license.
  • Requires the ability to utilize office equipment, including personal computers.
  • Requires the ability to obtain a tow motor license within 60 days of employment.
  • Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check.
  • Requires ability to pass a drug screen for drugs prohibited from recreational use under Illinois Law.

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine clerical and manual tasks in the Business Office and Stores unit of Alton Mental Health Center.
  • Re-packs stock for distribution.
  • Prepares and maintains receiving records. Completes other reports and records as required.
  • Maintains clean and orderly shelves, mailroom, and warehouse. Assists in taking inventory of consumables.
  • Rotates stock to ensure oldest goods are used first. Conducts periodic checks of inventory to ensure stock on hand matches reports.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
