About The Position

The position involves inventorying stock areas, receiving requisitions, pulling supplies, loading merchandise onto a vehicle, and transporting and delivering items to various locations and departments within a medical center. The role also includes picking up supplies and equipment for return to the medical center and performing routine maintenance on the vehicle used for deliveries.

Requirements

  • Must attach a current CQA driver record information sheet, obtained within the last month.
  • Driving record must be free of incidents involving negligence and free of citations for driving under the influence or reckless driving.
  • Driving record must not reflect more than two moving violations during the same two-year period.
  • Demonstrated experience with and knowledge of medical supplies inventory stocking practice, receiving functions, exchange cart, and par level supply systems required.
  • Must be able to lift in excess of 60 lbs. and move in excess of 300 lbs. with material handling equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Two (2) years of health care storeroom experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides delivery service within assigned medical center by loading packaged merchandise onto vehicle.
  • Assures proper and secure placement of items to ensure safe and convenient delivery.
  • Utilizes equipment for loading and unloading such as pallet jack, dolly, and hydraulic lifter.
  • Operates company vehicle in compliance with established procedures and the laws of the Motor Vehicle Code.
  • Delivers merchandise to various medical center locations and obtains signature of receiving party for merchandise delivered.
  • Maintains delivery records/issues logs for items delivered to users or transferred between primary and secondary locations.
  • Picks up and delivers clean and soiled linen and central service instruments between facilities.
  • Inventories and completes accurate inventory records to maintain pre-established par levels.
  • Stocks shelves for par replenishment.
  • Inspects vehicles for any malfunctions and performs safety checks.
  • Maintains maintenance records on vehicle.
  • Establishes and maintains courteous, cooperative relations with Health Plan members, the public, and other personnel.
  • Stocks, inventories, cleans, and restocks par level locations and medical supply carts to designated levels.
  • Prepares items for transfer between primary and secondary locations using picking tickets.
  • Verifies unit of issue.
  • Transports medical supply carts between medical center departments and storeroom area.
  • Transports patients within the medical center and maintains request and log sheet for all patient transports.
  • Determines availability of stock, fills orders, and delivers to medical center departments.
  • Assists with shipping and receiving activities, including receiving and checking incoming deliveries.
  • Unpacks and stores incoming material and prepares for delivery to users.
  • Responds to stat requests for medical supplies and equipment as required.
  • Stores and rotates materials that require special handling.
  • Promotes, ensures, and improves customer service to internal/external customers.
