About The Position

The Storeroom Specialist at Volvo Group is responsible for coordinating between Volvo Trucks North America and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of storeroom materials. This role involves maintaining the integrity of the Computer Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and managing inventory effectively to support operational needs.

Requirements

• Ability to convey information through oral and written communication.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Analytical and conceptual thinking skills with a structured approach to problem-solving.
• Education: 4-year Bachelor's degree or 5 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Act as a coordinator between Volvo Trucks North America and suppliers/vendors to expedite delivery of storeroom materials.
• Work within the CMMS to check open or past due purchase orders.
• Coordinate with vendors to expedite all storeroom parts as needed.
• Review material shortages daily using reports generated from the CMMS.
• Audit receipts daily to prevent over/early shipments from vendors and make appropriate disposition when necessary.
• Provide daily information to the Storeroom Supervisor on parts and inventory problems.
• Audit inventory and cycle count reports and suggest changes as needed.
• Communicate with Volvo Transport to determine possible disposition through substitution, rework, or return to vendor.
• Authorize Premium Transportation for material when needed.
• Manage multiple purchase orders daily for vendor managed inventory and maintenance-related material.
• Manage the repair process for handheld tools and equipment, including PO generation and customs requirements.
• Work with Volvo IPS buyers to resolve outstanding issues or questions from suppliers.
• Collaborate with Volvo Logistics to address supplier inquiries about shipments.
• Engage with the Volvo Environmental Group on new chemicals added to the I-Maint database.
• Assist storeroom management, finance department, and maintenance supervisors with order inquiries and resolutions.
