The Storeroom Keeper position involves various responsibilities related to the maintenance and management of storeroom chemicals and equipment. The role includes cleaning and setting up labs, issuing and receiving equipment, filing, delivering items to other departments, and performing other office duties as required. Students will enter data to track and maintain storeroom chemicals while overseeing storeroom security. Additionally, the position requires supervising and assisting with the chemical check-out process, preparing small and safe reagents for labs, and preparing disposable pipettes for experiments. The Storeroom Keeper serves as the first visible contact trained on safety procedures and has the proper contact information and location for the on-duty safety officer.
