At West Fraser, our Storeroom Clerk position works directly for the site’s purchasing manager and is tasked with receiving parts and storing inventory. It will be the duty of the storeroom clerk to manage all duties of the storeroom and assist fellow employees with inventory needs.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of storeroom, inventory, or purchasing experience in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment.
  • Understanding of heavy industrial machinery and equipment components.
  • Possess strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds regularly throughout the workday.
  • Strong computer skills including MS Office and inventory management software.
  • Be reliable by possessing consistent and predictable attendance behavior.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and inspect all shipments on the day of delivery.
  • Count items and compare balances to the packing slip to maintain shipment accuracy, notifying the requestor and purchasing manager of any discrepancies.
  • Store and inventory items by part and resource number and accurately apply bin location labels and process in the inventory collection system.
  • Store MSDS information for new products and request documentation when missing.
  • Assist employees in locating stock items within the storeroom.
  • Processing stock item returns.
  • Perform cycle counts in the storeroom on a regular basis to maintain accurate stock levels.
  • Communicate with the purchasing manager, stakeholders, and customers/requestors delivery schedules and changes.
  • Receiving invoices for services and contractors and file accordingly.
  • Process out-shipments for repairs and oil samples on a daily basis.
  • Prepare and process shipping documents such as bill of lading, packing slips, and shipping labels.
  • Performing daily storeroom housekeeping activities.
  • Fill in running replenishment in the absence of the purchasing manager
