About The Position

The Storekeeper will be responsible for the day-to-day management, including receipt and disbursement, of the facility’s parts, materials and supplies as well as oversee the inventory control system. The Storekeeper will also work closely with the facility buyer and facility management to ensure an adequate supply of necessary parts, materials, and safety supplies are available for ongoing facility needs. Computer based inventory record keeping and manual inventory checks are also a necessary part of the Storekeeper’s responsibilities. The Storekeeper will also assist with the acceptance and processing of profiled waste material from customers. This will include off-loading inbound trucks, waste stream QA/QC, verify container count, manifest number and other relevant data needed for waste processing. Container sampling, recognizing non-conforming material, and processing of material through normal operations. In addition, the Storekeeper will be the primary liaison for the facility’s American Flag Retirement program.

Requirements

  • One (1) year of related experience
  • HS/GED diploma
  • Must have the ability to operate plant equipment, as required
  • Ability to walk, stand, sit, and climb
  • Ability to use hands to operate a computer or other office equipment
  • Ability to lift/carry 50lbs
  • Ability to work from heights and in confined spaces
  • Qualify to wear a full-face respirator
  • Consistently work in various weather conditions
  • Able to work independently and within a team
  • Basic computer skills (Outlook, Excel)
  • Good time management and organization skills

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all inventory/storeroom related activities for the facility
  • Handle supplier interface, strengthening vendor data base, while maintaining and assuring high ethical relationships, both internally and externally
  • Maintains records of physical counts, receipts, adjustments, and returns to ensure accuracy of the facility’s inventory system
  • Responsible for all shipping and receiving for the facility, including physically placing parts/equipment in the designated warehouse location
  • Responsible for the physical organization and storage of received inventory in the warehouse, ensuring all parts and equipment are correctly binned, and that the inventory database reflects the correct bin locations of all parts and equipment.
  • Shipping canceled and/or damaged items back to suppliers as appropriate
  • Tracks and provides updates on the status of incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Ensure that spare parts are within established minimums & maximums
  • Ensure that procured materials & services are requisitioned properly and that materials & services received meet all aspects of quality, safety, timeliness, and best value to the company
  • Assist with low value procurement activities maximizing usage of the P-Card
  • Perform administrative functions such as assisting in maintaining inventory and cycle counts, maintaining shipping and receiving records and preparing routine reports.
  • Provides additional administrative support to Purchasing and Quality departments.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
  • Operate heavy equipment such as fork trucks
  • Process waste materials into like commodities or in accordance with vendor specifications
  • Preventative Maintenance paperwork for equipment
  • Loading/Unloading of van trailers and/or flat beds
