About The Position

Storekeeper I positions order, receive, store, and issue or release various materials, records, and supplies; perform inventory control and assist in the development and maintenance of a computerized inventory system; function as a liaison with vendors to resolve problems with items received or vendor payment; assist with keeping store's cost allocations and preparing budget estimates; prepare reports; supervise adherence to safety rules and regulations pertaining to storeroom procedures, equipment, and handling of hazardous materials; train and supervise the work of subordinates; conduct site inspection for water leaks, mold, vermin, and other contaminates; and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • One year of full-time inventory control experience in which your PRIMARY responsibility was receiving, storing, and issuing or releasing equipment, materials, records, and supplies from a stockroom and/or warehouse facility.
  • Qualifying experience MUST include numerical or computerized inventory control.
  • A valid California Class C Driver License may be required at the time of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience operating a computer terminal or related equipment using programs and screens pertaining to property and supply and/or records inventories.
  • Experience operating forklifts, pallet-jacks, hand-trucks, and other related storeroom equipment.
  • Experience using handheld scanners and bar coding equipment to track inventories.
  • Experience in fleet automotive parts operations of a warehouse or storeroom which includes maintaining inventory control, shipping and receiving, issuing stock, and ordering supplies.
  • Automotive parts experience which includes light, medium, heavy duty, and industrial equipment.
  • Experience in handling administrative duties, such as providing statistics and running storage site reports via software tracking system.
  • Experience with climbing tall storage ladders, and carrying and retrieving heavy loads.
