About The Position

The Store Team Leader at pOpshelf is responsible for managing all employees and overseeing store operations to ensure effective planning and implementation of processes such as ordering, receiving, stocking, merchandising, and customer service. This role emphasizes creating a customer-first culture and maintaining high store standards while engaging and developing the team.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary business school training preferred.
  • At least two years of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedures manuals.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations and cash handling procedures.
  • Knowledge of recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and termination practices.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to solve problems and handle various situations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all employees and store processes including ordering, receiving, stocking, and merchandising.
  • Provide superior customer service leadership to exceed customer expectations.
  • Model and coach the team on balancing tasks with customer service.
  • Evaluate and incorporate customer feedback into employee training.
  • Facilitate a safe, clean, and organized store environment.
  • Recruit, select, and retain qualified employees in compliance with labor laws.
  • Train, develop, and manage store employees' performance.
  • Communicate store performance and safety expectations regularly.
  • Ensure proper staffing and daily store operations including opening and closing duties.
  • Evaluate operating statements to identify financial trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Oversee inventory ordering to meet in-stock targets and manage inventory issues.
  • Facilitate appealing merchandising to drive sales and customer excitement.
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels and ensure financial integrity of the store.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
