Requirements
- High school diploma or currently pursuing one
- Basic computer and cash-handling skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Must be able to lift/move up to 50 lbs regularly and occasionally team lift up to 100 lbs
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a store environment that may be dusty or experience temperature changes
Nice To Haves
- Retail, customer service, or cashiering experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service and represent The Salvation Army’s mission and values
- Greet donors and shoppers warmly and assist with transactions at the register
- Operate the Point-of-Sale (POS) system and handle all cash transactions accurately
- Open, close, and balance cash drawers per TSA cash handling policies
- Maintain a clean and organized store by restocking, straightening racks, and cleaning work areas
- Ensure merchandise is displayed properly and replenished regularly
- Follow all policies regarding the sale of donated goods
- Work collaboratively with team members and store management
- Support store productivity benchmarks and contribute to sales goals
- Be available for flexible scheduling, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and some holidays
