About The Position

The Store Receiver at Whole Foods Market is responsible for managing the receiving, accounting, and distribution operations related to incoming product deliveries. This role ensures that all processes align with the company's standards and promotes a positive image through courteous service to customers and team members. The position requires adherence to health and safety regulations, as well as support for the company's core values and initiatives.

Requirements

  • 12+ months retail experience.
  • 12+ months working in a distribution or receiving related environment preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of store receiving, accounting, and distribution procedures and policies.
  • Working knowledge and application of all WFM quality goals, food handling, safety, and other standards.
  • Ability to educate team on product knowledge and convey enthusiasm.
  • Knowledge and ability to use computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and IRMA.
  • Strong to excellent communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to deliver information in a clear and respectable manner to fellow Team Members, customers, and vendors.
  • Ability to meet customer service expectations and standards in all interactions with customers, vendors, and Team Members.
  • Ability to follow directions and procedures; effective time management and organization skills.
  • Passion for natural foods and the mission of Whole Foods Market.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency.
  • Understanding of and compliance with WFM quality goals.

Responsibilities

  • Verify actual product against Purchase Orders and/or supplier paperwork.
  • Confirm product integrity and check product temperatures as needed.
  • Stamp, initial, process, and file invoices.
  • Distribute invoice copies to appropriate teams when applicable.
  • Follow Whole Foods Market Correct Pay Procedures.
  • Accurately close purchase orders in the proprietary store purchasing application.
  • Adhere to and meet Receiving standards as outlined in Store Process.
  • Distribute copies of processed paperwork to Team mailboxes and regional office.
  • Follow up with vendors regarding accounts payable.
  • Support product Teams with accounting processes during inventory and financial period close.
  • Distribute all store expense invoices to Store Leadership.
  • Maintain baler, compactor, and all environmental areas in proper working order; tie bales, call for can pick up, and direct service team to areas requiring attention.
  • Arrive to work station on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work; work all scheduled shifts and attend required trainings and meetings.
