About The Position

The Store Protection Specialist at Ross is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for both associates and customers by providing a visible presence at store entrances and throughout the sales floor. This role focuses on mitigating theft and fraud while ensuring compliance with loss prevention directives. The Specialist is expected to engage with customers in a friendly manner, monitor for potential theft indicators, and collaborate with store leadership to minimize operational shortages.

Requirements

  • High School education or equivalent required; AA degree preferred.
  • One year of retail supervisor experience or similar training preferred.
  • One year of loss prevention/security training preferred.
  • Active Security Guard License preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with the store team.
  • Excellent customer service skills and proven conflict resolution abilities.

  • Knowledge of loss prevention strategies and techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a visible presence at store entrances/exits to deter theft and fraud.
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment for associates and customers.
  • Greet customers courteously and assist them with inquiries.
  • Monitor the sales floor for potential theft indicators and suspicious behavior.
  • Collaborate with store leadership to ensure compliance with loss prevention directives.
  • Educate associates on shortage reduction initiatives and proper checkout procedures.
  • Remove clutter and ensure clear access to emergency exits.
