About The Position

The Parts Professional at NAPA is responsible for providing exceptional customer service by assisting customers with their parts needs, processing orders accurately, and maintaining a thorough knowledge of products and services. This role involves direct interaction with customers both in-store and over the phone, ensuring customer satisfaction through effective communication and problem-solving skills.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to establish and maintain good relations with customers.
  • Functionally literate and capable of understanding part numbers and line codes.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced setting and able to work calmly under pressure.
  • ASE Parts Specialist (automotive) certification required.
  • Working knowledge of the local area and ability to operate a vehicle with a manual transmission.
  • Ability to work retail hours at any assigned store location.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience operating TAMS point-of-sale system and cataloging.
  • Ability to use an adding machine and process cash, check, and credit card transactions.
  • Visually capable of recognizing and distinguishing letters and numbers.
  • Ability to work on feet for an entire shift.
  • Capable of lifting and moving parts and boxes up to 60 pounds.
  • Ability to bend or stoop to floor-level shelves and reach upper shelves with a stool or ladder.
  • Ability to move heavy equipment using moving aids.

Responsibilities

  • Provide prompt and courteous service to customers over the telephone, in-store, or in the dealer's shop.
  • Look up parts applications in catalogs or POS systems.
  • Process customer orders with high accuracy and efficiency.
  • Assist and advise customers on their needs, addressing technical questions and problems.
  • Exhibit thorough knowledge of products, performance standards, warranties, and sales programs.
  • Serve as a resource for advice to other store personnel.
  • Implement appropriate sales practices, including greeting customers and demonstrating product knowledge.
  • Maintain customer satisfaction by securing the right part and resolving issues.
  • Demonstrate a professional attitude, conduct, and appearance.
  • Maintain POS computer abilities and understand store pricing methods.
  • Provide sales support functions, including processing stock orders and reporting inventory issues.
  • Participate in training as needed and perform other tasks as assigned by management.
