About The Position

The Store Operations Assistant supports the Store Manager in the daily operations of a supermarket. This role ensures all departments function smoothly, are adequately supplied, and provide excellent customer service. Key responsibilities include leadership, coordination, and problem-solving to maintain a clean, efficient, and customer-focused store environment. Fluency in both Spanish and English is required to effectively support both staff and customers.

Requirements

  • Fluent in Spanish and English (required).

  • Basic understanding of inventory and store operations.
  • Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor all departments to ensure smooth, efficient daily operations.
  • Conduct walkthroughs to identify issues, maintenance needs, or improvement opportunities.
  • Support department leads with workflow, staffing, and task execution.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, and merchandising standards.
  • Confirm each department has necessary tools, supplies, and product levels.
  • Coordinate with department managers to prevent stockouts or overstocking.
  • Assist with receiving, organizing, and maintaining accurate inventory flow.
  • Communicate supply needs to Store Manager or purchasing team.
  • Ensure customers receive prompt, friendly, and professional service.
  • Resolve customer concerns with a calm, solution-oriented approach.
  • Support staff in maintaining store cleanliness and a positive shopping experience.
  • Assist in training, coaching, and supervising employees across all departments.
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive work environment.
  • Provide performance feedback and support employee development.
  • Step in to assist departments during peak times or staffing shortages.
  • Assist with scheduling, timekeeping, and labor management.
  • Support opening/closing procedures, including cash handling and security checks.
  • Help track store performance metrics and support improvement initiatives.
  • Serve as Manager-on-Duty when the Store Manager is unavailable.
