The Store Manager is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned. The Store Manager enables the store to effectively meet sales and profit goals, as well as changing customer demands. They promote cross merchandising between departments and execute weekly and seasonal display changeovers while maintaining price accuracy. The Store Manager communicates effectively with customers and store associates, focusing on continuously improving programs and methods to enhance the customer experience. They motivate associates by improving morale, teamwork, and engagement, empowering them to resolve customer issues promptly and professionally. Daily associate huddles and weekly management meetings are conducted to discuss information, priorities, goals, accomplishments, directives, and changes. The Store Manager maintains all aspects of store conditions, presentation, and appearance, ensuring adequate product varieties and quantities to meet customer demand while ensuring freshness and minimizing shrink. They control and organize backroom inventory to allow for maximum efficiency and productivity. The Store Manager promotes diversity and equal opportunity employment in a respectful workplace environment, leading by example to ensure that associates favorably represent Weis Markets. They set standards to provide a positive, safe, and engaging work environment and enhance community relations by involving the store in local events and organizations. Compliance with federal, state, and local laws governing store operation as well as company policies and procedures is essential. The Store Manager ensures safety, sanitation, proper use, and maintenance of facilities and equipment, as well as food safety, freshness, and quality. They communicate expectations, investigate complaints, and perform physical inspections to ensure compliance with government regulations and company standards. The Store Manager manages controllable expenses including payroll within budgeted expectations and performs daily store walks of the entire store and exterior property to identify successes and opportunities, provide direction and feedback, and be visible and accessible to associates and customers. They cooperate with internal and external stakeholders on business events and activities and inform upper-level management of competitor information.
