About The Position

The Gas Station Store Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the store and fueling operations. This role combines retail management, operational oversight, and leadership responsibilities to ensure the store runs smoothly and efficiently. The manager will ensure that all equipment functions properly, maintain cleanliness and safety standards, and supervise staff to provide excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily store and fueling operations, ensuring pumps, registers, and equipment function properly.
• Monitor fuel deliveries, storage, and sales to prevent shortages or compliance issues.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety standards for the store, forecourt, restrooms, and surrounding property.
• Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise cashiers and attendants.
• Provide coaching on customer service, upselling, and safety protocols.
• Handle staff concerns, resolve conflicts, and conduct performance evaluations.
• Ensure staff delivers friendly, efficient service to customers.
• Address customer complaints and resolve issues quickly.
• Promote loyalty programs or special promotions to increase sales.
• Manage cash handling, deposits, and reconciliation of daily sales.
• Order, receive, and track store inventory (snacks, drinks, automotive products, etc.).
• Control fuel inventory and monitor shrinkage or theft.
• Meet sales targets and control operating costs to maximize profitability.
• Enforce all state/federal regulations regarding fuel handling, tobacco, and alcohol sales.
• Ensure proper safety procedures (spill prevention, fire safety, emergency protocols).
• Maintain compliance with health codes and inspections.
• Prepare daily/weekly/monthly reports on sales, fuel volumes, and expenses.
• Use POS and back-office systems to analyze trends and adjust operations.
• Communicate with district/regional managers on store performance.
• Should be able to lift 50 pounds.
