About The Position

Moleskine is seeking a Store Manager to launch and lead our new Bethesda Row location in Bethesda, MD. This role is responsible for building the business from the ground up across sales, team development, operations, and local engagement. The Store Manager will partner closely with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Finance, Direct Channels, and Visual Merchandising, to establish strong foundations and drive sustained performance from opening through long-term growth. This is a hands-on role in a lean retail environment. You’ll lead from the floor and operate as both a business owner and team leader.

Requirements

  • Experience managing a retail store or similar business unit
  • Strong understanding of retail KPIs and how to manage them on the floor
  • Track record of hiring and developing effective teams
  • Comfortable in a lean, high-ownership environment
  • Ability to build structure and drive results in a new store setting
  • Ability to build meaningful customer relationships and deliver a high-quality service experience
  • Able to operate independently, make sound decisions, and solve problems in real time
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Fluent in English

  • Experience building a team or opening a new store strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Drive sales and profitability through active management of retail KPIs (conversion, UPT, AOV)
  • Lead all aspects of new store opening, including hiring, onboarding, and training the full team
  • Recruit, hire, and develop a strong, accountable team from the ground up
  • Coach performance in real time and set clear expectations for sales and service
  • Build strong customer relationships that translate into repeat business and sales growth
  • Lead daily store operations, including floor coverage, merchandising, and inventory
  • Build schedules aligned to payroll and business needs
  • Analyze performance and take action to improve results week over week
  • Own inventory processes and resolve discrepancies
  • Maintain brand standards across customer experience and visual presentation
  • Establish clear operational routines and structure in a new store environment
  • Support local community engagement efforts to drive awareness and traffic
