About The Position

We are excited to continue expanding Salomon’s retail footprint in North America with our first Brand store in New York, carrying an assortment of both our Performance and Sportstyle models. As the Store Manager, you will lead the store and ensure its financial success, efficient operations, and exceptional customer experiences while growing the Salomon consumer base within the community. The Store Manager is responsible for building and leading a high performing store team to ensure that they; Achieves sales goals Effectively executes brand standards ​ Deliver operational excellence​ Adhere to financial targets​ The Store Manager provides the highest level of customer experience and deliver the vision for the brand, supporting and mentoring the Assistant Store Manager and Sales Associates with their personal and career development.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of retail management experience
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team of 10 or more
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
  • Excellent multitasking, planning, and organizational abilities
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Financial acumen and proficiency in MS Office applications
  • Enthusiasm for the sports industry, outdoors, and fashion
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
  • Employees must be adaptable to the business's evolving needs.
  • The Store Manager, in collaboration with the Regional Manager, will determine availability requirements.
  • This schedule may include various shifts such as mornings, evenings, and weekends.
  • All employees are expected to be available to work on Black Friday (the day after US Thanksgiving).
  • Availability is required from the second week of December until the end of the holiday season.
  • The exact end date will be determined annually, based in part on the period during which guests can return holiday merchandise.
  • Fully accountable for all Store Manager responsibilities, with potential to perform other management duties as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Motivate and inspire the team through the articulation of a compelling vision for the store, reflecting and maximizing the power of the Salomon brand​
  • Manage all aspects of the store balanced scorecard [people, operations, finance and customer] to deliver consistently high performing results​
  • Ensure that the team understand the customer needs and profile so they are able to deliver consistently high-quality service​
  • Present and visible on the shop floor, interacting productively with customers and team members​
  • Effectively manage the store inventory levels ensuring the market and customer needs are met ​
  • Deliver operational best practice through partnership with the District Manager​
  • Oversee activity, adhering to building safety &, health and safety standards and inspections; maintaining a safe and secure environment for the team and customers​
  • Manage the staff scheduling ensuring appropriate staff cover​
  • Ensure the company’s policies are understood and adopted by all team members​
  • Manages the payroll to achieve the budgeted level of payroll spend and the in-store customer service experience​
  • Monitor a loss prevention program to protect the company’s inventory and assets​
  • Analysis of sales trends to ensure optimal product selection and maximisation of sales​
  • Deliver the P&L and retail KPI’s in line with budget and forecast​
  • Effectively lead and deliver all Sales Associate recruitment​
  • Work with the ASM to ensure that all members of the team receive effective onboarding and ongoing training and education​
  • Actively support and deliver the personal career development opportunities of the store team​
