About The Position

The Store Manager is responsible for the strategy implementation of the SIG SAUER Experience Center. This individual oversees employee activities and managerial duties of all aspects of the building, indoor public range, retail store, café, museum, and membership program. The Store Manager develops innovative promotional strategies to meet sales targets, promotes the business, and maintains consumer interest. This role typically requires 5-7 years of retail management experience preferably in the sporting goods or firearms industry and a minimum of 5 years of P&L management across multiple business units. The Store Manager collaborates and aids the VP, Product Management & Academy and Sr. Manager, Sales Operations to implement vision and strategy that will align with corporate marketing and sales initiatives on and off site to ultimately result in the successful operation of the SEC (SIG SAUER Experience Center).

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience, Bachelors degree preferred.
  • Must have a minimum of 5-7 years of retail management experience required, preferably in the sporting goods or firearms retail environment.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of P&L Management across multiple business units.
  • Must possess exemplary ability to manage personnel, budgets, and retail operations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word), experience with Oracle and Agile systems preferred.
  • Must be able to clearly, concisely, and accurately convey ideas and information to others, both verbally and in written form.
  • Maintain a calm and professional demeanor at all times when dealing with customers and staff.
  • Must keep direct and open communication between management and the SEC range staff.
  • Must be able to operate independently at a high level and complete tasks in a timely manner while identifying future projects and assigning work to team.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer using a keyboard and mouse performing repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to open file cabinets, reach with hands and arms, bend, and twist, lift and move files.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where required.
  • Must comply with all work exposure EH&S training requirements and adhere to SIG SAUER Inc. Security Mandates.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve store operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees and following up on work results.
  • Set clear expectations for SEC leadership and hold team accountable for driving results through customer
  • Maintain store staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
  • Responsible for overseeing and maintaining Range Safety Officer skills in alignment with SIG SAUER Academy.
  • Ensure availability of merchandise and services by maintaining inventories.
  • Provide cross functional support across SIG SAUER Academy.
  • Work with the Events staff, in conjunction with corporate staff and policies, to develop additional revenue through corporate events, matches, and leagues.
  • Ensure standard intake and execution processes for all Academy events.
  • Work in conjunction with Facilities Manager to ensure range is in top working order, address all range maintenance in a timely manner to minimize range down time.
  • Achieve financial objectives by preparing annual budgets, schedule expenditures, analyze variances, and initiate corrective actions.
  • Recruit, select, and hire direct report employees to meet business trends.
  • Maintain Sales staff job results by developing, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results including conducting performance reviews.
  • Execute on operational requirements to ensure team is positioned to deliver exceptional customer experience.
  • Plan and execute seasonal merchandising as appropriate while working in conjunction with the SIG SAUER Marketing team.
  • Create roadmap for SIG SAUER retail through policies, procedures, and standards of work.
  • Secure merchandise by implementing security systems and measures.
  • Protect employees and customers by providing a safe and clean store environment.
  • Continually evaluate, and if necessary, adjust range use policies to maintain a safe, customer focused service.
  • Abide by all applicable security and EH&S policies.
  • Maintain the stability and reputation of the store by complying with all legal requirements.
  • Help in other parts of the team regularly, work with and relay information to other departments regularly.
  • Participate on problem solving teams for driving to root cause of internal and external quality failures, particularly related to prevention of customer escapes.
  • Identify Continuous Improvement projects/tasks.
  • Participate in and sustain 5S Standards.
  • Must follow all required Safety and ISO procedures.
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
